As shitty Best Of lists go, this takes the prize for Absolute Shittiest Best Of List Ever Compiled
Xfm listeners vote on the Best Songs Ever Written. A ridiculous Best Of to start with, but not one without precedent (Blender's "500 Greatest Songs Since You Were Born," for example).
Xfm's 1-10 below.
And who makes it into the top five you ask? Well, I don't want to ruin the surprise, but it's an eclectic mix of bands loved by frat boys and fake hippie douches alike. Yes, bands loved by the true music connoisseurs -- the kids who are just as likely to have DMB on their iPod as they are to have an old August and Everything After cassette tape lying around in their closet.

The Political Art of Domination: a leather master's historic run for office
Joe Laiacona may well run unopposed as the Democratic candidate for state rep in Illinois' 40th, a predominantly blue-collar district on the northwest side. Laiacona, an openly gay man, has made a bid challenging the registered voter status of incumbent Deborah Mell, an out lesbian. All this legal maneuvering has political junkies hooked. Add in that Laiacona is also a "leather master" who has published seven books on BDSM and role playing, and for sixteen years wrote a column called "Leather Views" for Gay Chicago Magazine and, well... Woo boy!
